ABOUT COCO PEAT

Coco peat or coir pith is traditionally a byproduct of the coconut fiber extraction process where retting bacteria are used in soaked coconut husks. It has been continued for more than a hundred years in Sri Lanka. Coco peat is spread out in the open ground exposed to the tropical monsoon rains.

Naturally well washed coco peat consists of a very low content of water soluble elements and this is much suitable as a growing media.

Fiber extraction process and Coco peat manufacturing is now done by automated machinery without the soaking of husks in water.

Further, coconut husks are directly sliced and crushed in to various sizes to have coarser particles of coco peat.

Unique qualities of coco peat as growing media have been identified and established by now. Coco peat is now used in almost all agricultural sectors in many countries varying from advance green houses to traditional field crops.
e.g.. Potting soil, Rooting media, composting, Land escaping, Grow Slabs, Animal litters etc.
